Welcome to my
site.
It is my hope that
you enjoy this site as much as I do!
There is an old
adage that time flies. Yes, it certainly does. I felt like tossing my alarm
clock the other day!!!!
The fall season
has ended, and I have merged into the winter season. The injuries are already
starting to roll in to the training room. Just yesterday, a basketball player
came into the training room and showed me his elbow after he fell onto it.
Lucky for you I have a camera phone. Here are two views of his traumatic olecranon
bursitis. Here are the photos from the lateral
& posterior
views.
Now that Christmas
is nearly upon us, (Christmas should always be in our hearts) here is link to Christmas carols
about people we all know!
Education
always proceeds at warp speed 8.0. It is a Star Trek thing, if I have to
explain, you would not understand. Captain Archer wishes he could go warp 8.0! But
I mean that in the nicest possible way.
“Live
long and prosper” -Vulcan
saying
Speaking
of Star Trek, one of my all time favorite sayings comes from ST:TNG. The
episode is from the first season. The episode is called Home Soil. When our
heroes make contact with a mineral being, they call “microbrain”,
the being addresses humans as “Ugly bags of mostly water.” What an incredibly true and profound statement of
humans. My other all time favorite saying comes from Shakespeare, and is “Thou crusty batch of nature.”

Below
are links to some injury images that our athletes have suffered.
This young individual was at basketball practice, jumped
for a rebound and fell. The first thing to hit the floor was his forehead.
He was able to speak and all of those fun things afterwards. No, that is not a
tumor, or a baseball, or some sort of horror movie make up. Here are some more
images. Forehead
2, forehead
3.
Elbow
contusion
Sprained ankle.
Osgood Slaughters’ Disease.
Injury grading images
Not all of the injuries that pass through the training room
are athletic in nature. This young athlete grabbed a hot pan lid and suffered
the following burns on his thumb and hand.
This athlete has a partially
torn chest muscle. Note the dimple just below and medial to the nipple.
This next photo is the same athlete flexing
his chest (remember he is a high schooler).
